Hello there! I am Ramakrishna. Thank you for stopping by.

I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Shiv Nadar University (SNU), Chennai. Prior to this, I completed my PhD at the Indian Institute of Technology Patna (IIT Patna), where I worked on low-resource and context-aware machine translation systems.

My main research goal is to bridge linguistic theories and cognitive insights with computational approaches to enable translation systems that more closely mimic human translation behaviour. Currently, I am exploring dynamic context selection, sparse representations for context encoding, and the role of non-linear embeddings in neural machine translation.

Before my PhD, I completed my Master’s in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Hyderabad (UoH) and my Bachelor’s in Computer Science and Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Gurajada-Vizianagaram (JNTU-GV).
